Holiday Home

Looking for a remote getaway or a countryside base from which to experience Puglia's undiscovered wonders?

Pilapalucci is a recently restored 17th century farmhouse, set in the midst of olive groves, almonds trees, vineyards and quiet country laneways.

The land was once the site of a carrier pigeon postal centre; the ruin of the pigeon coop still stands on the grounds.

Olive and almond trees, vineyards and historic buildings dominate the views.

Historic Truli, many in very good condition, survive on the farm and on nearby lands.

Now farmed orgranically (AIAB certified), the land has been in the D'Urso family for more than 800 years.

Our main crops are olives for Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Organic Almonds. We are active members of the local organic producers' cooperative.

For those interested, our Organic Olive Oil and Almonds are available directly from us

The entrance to the farmhouse is through an enclosed courtyard, with pomegranate and olive trees.

On the ground floor a long barrel vaulted hall is used for gatherings, and hosts cultural associations such as the Italian Institute of Philosophical Studies.

Thick walls insulate against the summer heat.

Upstairs is an open plan room which includes basic beds and a rustic kitchen.
